‘You inspired us to keep going’: Tributes pour in as ‘Extreme Weight Loss’ star Brandi Mallory dies at 40

STONE MOUNTAIN, GEORGIA: “Extreme Weight Loss” star Brandi Mallory has tragically died at the age of 40 and the cause of her death remains unknown.

A representative from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed to People that the former reality TV star died on November 9 in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Mallory’s weight loss journey was featured in Season 4 of “Extreme Weight Loss” in 2014.

After her time on the ABC reality show, she shared her life story in an interview with Ask Kirby Carroll, revealing that losing her sorority sisters at age 29, just a week younger than she had inspired his weight loss journey.

Witnessing his death, Brandi said at the time: “I literally woke up every day like it might be my last day awake, like I didn’t know what was going to happen to me.”

She added: “When you think maybe I should do something about my weight because I’m scared of dying too, then maybe you need to be careful about something like that.”

Family pays tribute to Brandi Mallory

Brandi’s family paid her a heartfelt tribute. Friends and family celebrated a candlelight vigil on November 12. His obituary revealed that the memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 19 in Lithonia, Georgia.

Extreme Weight Loss co-star Kim Williams Maxile also wrote a heartfelt message for Brandi, saying, “Rest in love, sister. To my fellow Extreme Weight Loss @extweightloss sis, @brandimallory, you I will never forget all this time. I was in training camp for season 5, we watched your season and it inspired us to continue.”

Kim added, “You have truly impacted this world with your enthusiasm and passion for body positivity. I am lucky to have been able to experience you in this world.”
