‘We would have been jailed’: Internet erupts as Secret Service shoots robbers near Naomi Biden’s home

WASHINGTON, DC: Secret Service agents protecting President Joe Biden’s granddaughter, Naomi Biden, opened fire after three suspects attempted to break into an unmarked Secret Service vehicle in Georgetown, Washington, DC, on the night of Sunday, November 12.

The incident sparked a heated debate online, with some users criticizing the officers’ use of force and others defending their actions.

How did the suspects break into Naomi Biden’s car?

The agents, responsible for protecting Naomi Biden, 29, and Hunter Biden’s daughter, were with her in the Georgetown neighborhood.

They shot three suspects as they smashed the window of the parked and unoccupied SUV, the secret service said in a statement, reported by the Daily Mail.

Around 11:58 p.m., one of the officers opened fire, but no one was hit by the gunfire.

The three people were seen fleeing in a red car and the Secret Service said it had issued a regional bulletin for the Metropolitan Police to be on the lookout.

“During this encounter, a federal agent discharged a service weapon and it is believed that no one was hit,” the Secret Service said.

“The offenders immediately fled the scene in a red vehicle and a regional lookout was sent to support units,” the statement added.

“There was no threat to the protected persons” and the Washington Metropolitan Police and Secret Service are investigating the incident, he said.

Naomi Biden enjoys Secret Service protection as a member of the first family

Naomi Biden is President Biden’s eldest granddaughter and a lawyer in Washington, DC. She benefits from the protection of the secret services as a member of the first family.

She is the daughter of Hunter Biden and his first wife Kathleen Buhle.

Naomi married Peter Neal who also works as a lawyer in Washington DC. They had stayed at the White House after their marriage, but now have their own home in the city.

It is unclear whether Naomi Biden heard the shooting, but she was informed of the incident afterward, as ABC reports citing sources.
