“Wanted. By order of Governor Ron DeSantis, any woman who has an abortion after six weeks and any doctor who provides her care will be guilty of a felony,” the narrator, Newsom himself, said in the ad, angry at the criminalization of women who seek abortions and doctors who perform such procedures in Florida.
“Abortion after six weeks will be punishable by up to five years in prison. Even though many women don’t even know they are pregnant at six weeks. This is not freedom. C “This is Ron DeSantis’ Florida,” the narrator concluded, according to Politico. .
The ad included a fake “wanted” poster with photographs of a doctor and an alleged patient, as well as the statement “Woman guilty of abortion.” The doctor was found guilty of facilitating the abortion.”

He continues: “Speaking of freedom: if you can’t walk down the street without fear of being accosted, or stepping on a used needle or human excrement, you’re not very ‘free.’ For this reason and more, people are fleeing California at a rate never seen before in history. And they’re headed to the Free State of Florida. »
In April, DeSantis signed Florida’s six-week abortion ban into law, upending his state’s reputation as an abortion haven in the South as he tried to boost his conservative credentials in the presidential primaries .
The new law bans abortions in the state after six weeks of pregnancy, with exceptions for mothers whose lives are in danger and for abortions up to 15 weeks for pregnancies caused by rape, incest or trafficking of human beings.

DeSantis’ ban also makes it a third-degree felony for doctors or anyone else who “actively participates” in an abortion in violation of the ban, and it prohibits state money from being used to help a woman obtain an abortion in another state, according to The Hill.
