LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Mariah Carey, aka “The Christmas Queen,” is set to perform at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, November 19.
The 54-year-old superstar will sing her holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” which has grossed more than $70 million since its release in 1994, for the first time at an awards show, according to Billboard.

Iconic actress, dancer and choreographer Debbie Allen will design the song’s production, and the set is said to be “festive, Aspen-inspired and full of surprises.”
Rather than airing on television, the 2023 Billboard Music Awards will be streamed live on Billboard’s official website starting at 8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. PT on Sunday. Performances and awards speeches will also be shared on the organization’s social media channels.

Mariah Carey’s Christmas hit, “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” will be honored with the Billboard Chart Achievement Award at its upcoming awards ceremony. Notably, the song has topped the charts since 2019, reigning on the “Hot 100” singles chart during the holiday season each year for a total of 12 weeks at No. 1.

Only two other Carey songs, “We Belong Together” and “One Sweet Day” (her collaboration with Boyz II Men), have enjoyed such longevity at the top, with “We Belong Together” holding the top spot for 14 weeks and ” One Sweet Day’ for an impressive 16 weeks in 1996.

It should be noted that “All I Want For Christmas” was remarkably successful and could easily surpass Carey’s other popular singles in the years to come. According to Billboard, Mariah Carey holds the record for most No. 1 hits by a solo artist, with a total of 19.
Additionally, she has spent the most weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, 91 weeks to be exact, and has the most number of hits for a female songwriter.
Mariah Carey reveals her favorite Christmas song
While appearing on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show,’ Mariah Carey revealed her favorite Christmas song, saying, “I have to say my favorite Christmas song of all time is the version of ‘(The) Christmas Song’ by Nat King Cole.’ It is my favorite.”
The five-time Grammy Award winner also revealed that she only allows Christmas music to be played in her home between November 1 and December 25.

“I don’t let anyone listen to anything other than Christmas music when I’m celebrating Christmas,” the singer-songwriter said, adding, “Movies have to be related to Christmas.”
When asked what her favorite Christmas movie was, she said, “Well, I love ‘Elf.’ It’s an older movie, but it’s got something about it.”
