“The Last Of Us”: Rainn Wilson denounces “anti-Christian prejudice” in Hollywood after episode 8
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actor Rainn Wilson took to his Twitter to highlight the anti-Christian bias in Hollywood with the example of the HBO series ‘The Last of Us.’ The 57-year-old actor called the penultimate episode titled ‘When We Are in Need’ of the post-apocalyptic series for featuring a Bible-reading character who turns out to be an ‘awful bad guy’.
In episode 8, of the drama series which is based on a video game of the same name, series main character Ellie comes across a group of cannibals led by a Christian preacher David who justifies the group’s action by citing bible verses. The episode later shows the cult leader attempting to rape Ellie, a young girl who then kills him in self-defense. The former ‘The Office’ star opened up about David’s character on Sunday, March 12. “I think there’s an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. As soon as David’s character in ‘The Last of Us’ started reading the Bible he knew he was going to be a horrible villain. Could there have a Bible-reading preacher on a show that’s actually loving and kind?” Wilson said on Twitter.

“The Defamation of Christianity”
Tons of Twitter users agreed with Wilson’s statement. “The vilification of Christianity has become the most unoriginal and tired cliché of film/TV scripts. Its prevalence is more than a prejudice against an entire people, it is aimed at undermining the faith and positioning the laity as the only ones with altruistic intentions,” tweeted LIBRE Initiative President Daniel Garza, while another added, “Indeed making Christians the villains of the show is the norm, from our days. “

New Christendom Press CEO Eric Conn remarked: ‘Returns to Mr. Collins in Austen’s ‘Pride & Prejudice’. The preacher is almost always portrayed in a negative light. This is also true for Hollywood today. Evie Magazine founder Brittany Martinez tweeted, “As soon as the pastor started reading the Bible I knew he was going to be awful. I was like ‘look at this guy being David the creepy video game cannibal.’ And then it was David. Shocked. Surprised. Never seen before. He was not a pastor in the video game.

Rainn is an outspoken leftist
Wilson’s recent social media activity may have surprised his fans as the actor is an outspoken leftist, especially on Twitter. In November, “The Rocker” actor changed his name to “Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson” on Instagram to promote climate change awareness. “I hope this name change will draw attention to this growing problem… er, melting. We need world leaders at COP27 to take notice and act. The Arctic is melting at millions of liters per second , but this issue can’t seem to make a name for itself, so it’s up to us,” Wilson said.
Join me @ @ArcticBasecamp in bringing attention to the melting issue. We need world leaders to act at COP 27!
