WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden celebrated his 81st birthday on November 20, a significant achievement for the longest serving president in United States history.
In an Instagram post, Biden showed off his birthday cake, joking: “Thanks for the birthday wishes today, everyone. Turns out on your 146th birthday, you’re missing space for candles!”

Joe Biden faces growing concerns over his age
On the morning of his birthday, Biden engaged in the White House Thanksgiving tradition of pardoning turkeys, a tradition that, he noted in his speech, has continued for more than seven decades. This year, the lucky winners were Liberty and Bell.

According to AP News, while addressing the audience gathered at the event, the president joked about his birthday, saying, “By the way, it’s my birthday today. I just want you know that it’s difficult to be 60. Difficult.”
Biden added that guests in the Oval Office sang “Happy Birthday” to him before the event.
“This is the 76th anniversary of this event, and I want you to know that I wasn’t there at the first one; I was too young to catch up,” he said.

The president is expected to travel to Nantucket with first lady Jill Bidden to celebrate her birthday with family. The couple is scheduled to stay on the Massachusetts island over the Thanksgiving holiday.
