‘Sore loser’: Viewers visibly slam Angela Bassett’s anger as Jamie Lee Curtis beats her at 2023 Oscars

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angela Bassett’s reaction to Jamie Lee Curtis beating her for “Best Supporting Actress” at the 2023 Oscars has gone viral, and viewers are unimpressed. Bassett, 64, looked visibly disappointed and didn’t cheer when Curtis expressed her joy at winning the ‘Everything, Everywhere, All At Once’ award. This is Curtis’ first Oscar in his decades-long career. Bassett, on the other hand, was hoping to win Marvel Studio’s first-ever acting Oscar.

When Jamie Lee Curtis, also 64, accepted the award, she thanked the people she has worked with throughout her career. “I look like I’m standing here all alone – I’m not,” she said. Curtis dedicated his award to “everyone who has supported the genre films I’ve made all these years.”

You should always cheer for the winner, no matter how you feel. Being a bad loser doesn’t do anyone any good.
