Riley Hedley and Mikey Easton: teenagers who never left each other die together in a horror accident

NORTHUMBERLAND, ENGLAND: Two teenagers died on Sunday evening March 12 in an ear crash on the A196 Coopies Way in Morpeth, Northumberland. Riley Hedley, 17, and Mikey Easton, 16, are said to have been friends and “have never been apart” from each other. Their sudden death shattered their families.

In a statement, Northumbria Police said: ‘Two teenagers have sadly lost their lives following a collision in the Morpeth area – and we are calling on witnesses to come forward. Shortly after 12.40am today we received a report of a collision on the A196 near Cooperes Way. Emergency services attended but unfortunately, despite the best efforts of paramedics, two teenagers, aged 17 and 16, died at the scene.

Cops are asking for the public’s help

“Both families are currently being cared for by specialist officers at this tragic time. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. We are now calling on all witnesses, especially those who may have dash cam footage, to come forward. Our thoughts are with both the families of the young men and their loved ones as they try to cope with today’s devastating news. We will support them in any way we can and ask that the privacy of both families be respected,” the statement added.

The double tragedy prompted heartbreaking tributes from families and friends of the young men. “Hardest post ever my beautiful baby boy… totally gutted, devastated hope you are at peace my little angel daddy and mommy love you so much. RIP Mikey Easton RIP Riley Hedley taken way too soon …you were never separated and then reunited too soon,” Mikey’s father said, as reported by The Mirror.

‘You were always there for me’

Mikey’s sister Ebony Easton posted on Facebook: “Rest In Peace Riley and Mikey❤️ Can’t believe you’re gone it doesn’t seem real we miss you so much already honestly I don’t know not what to say, I’m still so shocked that you left but we had a good time and even better memories.



She also shared, “I always grew up with you by my side, even though we weren’t always on the best of terms, but you were always there for me no matter what you were, the best little brother ever. anyone could ask. I love you so much. , I’m disgusted that this happened and you never met your little nephew, he would have loved you so much, I hope you are resting well 💖.

An acquaintance of the victims, Sadie Charlton, said: ‘Rest in peace Mikey Easton the most devastating news you will be missed by so many my heart goes out to his family and everyone who knew him I hope you come on he was an amazing boy with a heart of gold i can’t believe you left. ❤️❤️ also rest in peace Riley Hedley, didn’t really know him but met him a few times and he seemed like a nice boy, sending love to the family of both boys, we will miss them both . It’s heartbreaking that these two guys were taken away too soon.



Emily Makepeace added: “My heart goes out to the family and friends of Riley Hedley and Mikey Easton, both smart young boys and still not feeling real, they’re both gone and feeling so surreal that i was talking to them both on saturday night, caught way too soon and i can’t believe what the family and friends of these two young men are going through right now and i hope they all get the help and the support they need and deserve 💙💙.



Meanwhile, a GoFundMe has been launched for families of teens. The fundraiser said: “Sadly on 3/12/2023 we lost two of our close friends Riley and Mikey were two much loved boys and best friends, they both tragically passed away in a car accident together and it left a big impact on all of us and their families My heart goes out to both families at this time, as a community in times like this we should all come together and try to support both families of boys , all funds will be donated for funeral expenses.
