Pro-Palestinian Group Shares Map of New York Institutions’ ‘Direct Action Zones’, Internet Wants FBI Investigation
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A collective of pro-Palestinian activists, Within Our Lifetime, has raised alarms after sharing a map of the “direct action zone” showing newsrooms, businesses and buildings emblematic of New York City, and calling for an attempt to “globalize the Intifada”, according to the New York Post.

The map, which identified locations associated with entities considered adversaries by the group, was accompanied by a chilling call to action in a now-deleted post from Wednesday evening.
The message elicited a strong response, declaring: “Today and beyond, these places will be sites of popular mobilization in defense of our people,” echoing sentiments aligned with the Liberation Organization’s mantra of Palestine adopted by Hamas.
City officials quickly condemned the post, calling it hateful rhetoric aimed at sowing division within New York. A City Hall spokesperson reiterated Mayor Eric Adams’ stance against hate, ensuring continued monitoring and deployment of NYPD resources to ensure public safety at listed locations.
Lawmakers and community leaders also expressed condemnation, calling the post an incitement to violence against Jewish institutions.

Democratic Reps. Ritchie Torres and Mark Levine highlighted the dangerous nature of such rhetoric, denouncing it as an unacceptable call for senseless violence and incitement against predominantly Jewish institutions.
The NYPD confirmed it was aware of the disputed card and assured that steps were being taken to remedy the situation, with a focus on protecting public safety in the listed locations.

Polls indicate significant level of support for Hamas among students
Meanwhile, Within Our Lifetime held a “peaceful rally” in Washington Square Park, calling for an end to ongoing conflicts and demanding accountability from universities for complicity.
Recent events at New York University and CUNY School of Law have attracted attention, with protests over alleged anti-Semitic environments and canceled events.

As tensions persist, recent polls indicate significant levels of support for Hamas among students, reflecting a growing polarization of opinions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Recent statistics reveal a surge in anti-Jewish incidents across the five boroughs, coinciding with the escalation of conflict in the Middle East. The death toll and that of civilians remain a source of discord and divergence between Hamas and Israeli officials.
