What’s the biggest difference between Playboy and OnlyFans?

According to the New York Post, Playboy’s new platform is quite similar to OnlyFans and shares the same features where users can subscribe and pay to view adult and non-adult content. However, the brand says the difference will be that in OnlyFans anyone can become a creator; but to become a Playboy creator, you have to apply and be accepted by the editorial staff.

5 things to know about Playboy’s digital magazine

1) Amanda Cerny featured on the first-ever digital cover

Internet personality, model, actress, and former Playboy Playmate, Amanda Cerny, is featured on the first-ever digital cover as a futuristic platinum bunny sitting on a life-size carrot. The cover was published on Monday, March 13. However, the full first issue is slated for release later this year, Variety reports. Speaking about the article on the digital magazine’s front cover, the 31-year-old said: “From becoming the Playmate centerpiece of October 2011, to now being in the company of Marilyn Monroe, Dolly Parton and Kate Moss on the Playboy cover is a dream come true. A Playboy creator is someone who is able to embrace their creativity, sexuality, and express themselves freely and unapologetically. I look forward to sharing more of my trip,” as USA Today stated.

2) Playboy will promote creators in editorial articles

The magazine will promote Playboy’s most successful and up-and-coming designers in editorial features and cover fashion shoots and broadcasts. It will bring creator essays and content about what it’s like to be a part of Playboy.

3) The creators take control of the bunnies

Instead of “Playboy bunnies”, we will now have “Playboy creators”, who will post adult and non-adult content on their pages.

4) Fans have an intimate relationship with the creators

Creators can build intimate relationships with fans through “sleek profile designs,” reports USA Today. Users will also be able to message models and have special “access” to their daily lives.

5) Not an “adult” platform

The Playboy subscription platform will not allow pornography. A Playboy spokesperson said: “Many of our creators do not have nudity on their pages. While we allow nudity, we do not allow explicit content/pornography…We do not position this as a ‘mature’ platform – it’s for everyone, including mainstream creators sharing behind the scenes of their lives,” according to Variety.
