Patrick Dempsey says his kids will ‘find every reason why’ he shouldn’t be ‘sexiest man alive’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Patrick Dempsey has opened up about the mix of excitement within his family and, surprisingly, some discontent within his own circle of friends after being crowned ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ » by People in 2023.
At the recent Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas, the “Grey’s Anatomy” alum spoke to ET Online about how people reacted to his title announcement.

“I didn’t realize how close the competition was, how many people had finished second and how many people had been overlooked, and how many people were mad at me,” he said.
Dempsey now joins the prestigious list of previous Sexiest Man Alive winners and fellow actors including Michael B Jordan, Paul Rudd and Chris Evans.
Patrick Dempsey is ‘happy to be in the game’

Dempsey shared that he is currently enjoying his moment after winning the title. “I’m just happy to be in the game at this point in my life, so it’s good. I’m having a good time. I’m enjoying my moment,” he said.
The Ferrari star, who was announced as the sexiest man of the year earlier this year, admitted to being surprised by the honour.

“I was completely shocked, then I started laughing, it’s a joke, right? I’ve always been the maid of honor!,” the 57-year-old actor laughed while speaking to People.
“I had completely forgotten about it and never even considered taking this position. So my ego is good,” he added.
“I’m happy that it’s happening at this point in my life. It’s nice to have this recognition, and my ego definitely takes a bit of a hit, but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive ” said Dempsey.

How many children does Patrick Dempsey have?
Speaking to People about how his children reacted to the announcement, Dempsey said they were “just going to make fun of me and pick on me and find out all the reasons why I shouldn’t not do it, which is good, they keep me young.”
The actor who is also a racing enthusiast shares daughter Talula, 21, and 16-year-old twins Darby and Sullivan with wife Jillian Dempsey.
Dempsey and his makeup artist wife of 57 years were married in 1999 on a farm in Maine.

In January 2015, the couple went through a period of separation when Jillian filed for divorce from Dempsey. The actor and his wife then decided to work on their individual and relational issues to find themselves.
