On Instagram, Brzezinski not only expressed her admiration for Carter, but also highlighted the former First Lady’s support of her mother’s artistic career.

In the caption, she wrote: “Rosalynn Carter, like my mother @brzezinski_art, was a woman ahead of her time. When I learned of her death, I began looking through my family photos for photos of her, as well as passages from my father’s book, “Power and Principle: Memoirs of the National Security Advisor, 1977.” nineteen eighty one “.

Brzezinski added: “Like my mother, the former First Lady took on groundbreaking roles. She invested her time in major issues, causes and decisions made during President Carter, including the first real legislation regarding mental health. She even participated in Cabinet meetings.
The “Morning Joe” host then spoke about the shared photos: “In these photos, Ms. Carter graciously supports my mother’s artistic career as a sculptor. My mother pursued this career with great resilience while my father was in the White House, when society might have expected her to be somewhere else, rather than in a studio with a chainsaw all day. The first two photos were taken at the Osuna Gallery in 1977.”

“Mrs. Carter has always been very patient [and] kind to me. As a child, I remember her asking me to play my terrible piano in their living room at Camp David, and also the time she wiped chocolate on my face…(always a mother!),” wrote Brzezinski.
She also cited her father’s book that described Rosalynn’s relationship with Jimmy Carter: “From ‘P&P’——-‘Her influence over her husband was considerable and exercised almost openly. Carter – – at least, for me, I wasn’t embarrassed to admit it……’”
“Rosalynn brought both grace and warmth to the White House without flaunting her status, her power, or, as has been the case of late, her wealth. To Carter, she was a tower of strength, a source of calm affection and good judgment. Whenever an important question arose, she would sit quietly and listen – – and later share her views with him. She had the gift of forgetting a problem to the core,” Brzezinski concluded.
