‘Marketing genius’: Snoop Dogg ditching smoke ad turns out to be clever ad for smoke-free home
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Snoop Dogg, the legendary rapper and cannabis enthusiast, shocked his fans when he posted a video on his social media accounts saying he was “quitting smoking.”
Many wondered if he had decided to quit smoking weed, which is his trademark and part of his identity.

Snoop Dogg becomes Solo Stove’s “smoker”
However, it now appears that the ad is actually a clever advertisement for a smoke-free fireplace from Solo Stove, a company that makes outdoor products.

Snoop Dogg offered a clarification, saying “I know what you [must be thinking]”Snoop, smoke’s kinda your thing” in the marketing video posted on Instagram.

But he said he was done with “the cough and the clothes smelling all sticky, yucky,” saying “I’m going smoke-free,” as the camera pans toward the fireplace in front of him. “Clever,” he says with a laugh at the end of the video, praising the manufacturers for “eliminating the smoke.”

Snoop Dogg said “I love a good fire outside but the smoke was too much”
In a Solo Stove ad, Snoop said, “I love a good fire outside but the smoke was too much. Solo Stove fixed the fire and cleared the smoke.”
“They were a game changer and now I’m excited to spread the love and stay warm with my friends and family,” he said, according to PR News Wire.
He will be the official “smoker” of Solo Stove, the company announced. He will partner with the company on smoke-free product innovation and help design a new Snoop Dogg x Solo Stove product line.
“We are thrilled to have a product so good that it even inspired Snoop to quit smoking,” said John Merris, CEO of Solo Brands.
The first product from the collaboration is a limited edition bundle that includes a Bonfire fire pit designed by Snoop, a fire pit stand, a Snoop bucket hat, and a Snoop x Solo sticker pack.

Fans were quick to point out that Snoop Dogg never said he would stop smoking weed, he just “smoked.”
