Jenna Ellis criticized testimony that Trump didn’t want to leave the White House after 2020 election defeat

WASHINGTON, DC: According to ABC News, a Trump administration official has informed his former lawyer Jenna Ellis that “the boss is not leaving” the White House after the 2020 election.

Ellis made the statements to Georgia prosecutors while cooperating in a complex criminal case that accuses former President Donald Trump and his allies of illegally trying to overturn his election defeat, after pleading guilty to some of the counts indictment in the election interference case.

Jenna Ellis Opens Up About a Conversation Related to the 2020 Election Interference Case

In a recorded interview with Fulton County detectives obtained by ABC News, Jenna Ellis can be heard talking about an exchange she had on Dec. 19, 2020, the day after the 2020 election, with former media executive White House social workers, Dan Scavino.

Plea deals reached by Ellis and Trump friend Sidney Powell in the Georgia criminal racketeering case relating to efforts to overturn the 2020 election results prompted the plea sessions.

Ellis said, “I told him that the claims and the ability to challenge the election results were essentially over. He told me in a rather excited tone, “We don’t care and we’re not going to leave.”

“I said ‘what do you mean’, and he said ‘well, the boss – that’s President Trump – is not going to leave under any circumstances, we’re just going to stay in power’.” continued Trump’s former lawyer.

She added: “I said to him ‘it doesn’t really work like that, you realize’ and he said ‘who cares’.”

His testimony offers prosecutors a glimpse into the thoughts and feelings of defendants who cooperated in how Trump’s inner circle handled the 2020 defeat.

Additionally, his testimony could help Georgia prosecutors at trial, but the evidence may not amount to a blow since the comment did not come directly from the former president.

Despite refusing formal legal challenges from his own campaign, the former POTUS was, at the time, making outrageous claims about rigged results. Ellis was one of Trump’s most visible lawyers during the 2020 election, while serving as his legal advisor from 2019 to 2021.

She is among people the state says “knowingly and willingly joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in Trump’s favor,” making her a key part of Georgia prosecutors’ case against Trump. president, according to Forbes.

At the hearing in Georgia in October this year, Ellis sobbed and pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting and facilitating false statements and writing. She had been charged with more serious offenses, including violating the state’s anti-racketeering law.

Ellis was ordered to write a letter of apology to the people of Georgia, perform 100 hours of community service, pay a $5,000 fine and receive five years of probation in lieu of going in prison.
