Inside Twitch Queen Pokimane’s Controversial New Business, Myna Snacks

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Imane Anys, widely known as Pokimane, recently unveiled Myna Snacks, a line of healthy snacks she has been working on for two years.

The Pokimane company launched Midnight Mini Cookies, a vitamin D-enriched and gluten-free chocolate cookie, which sparked controversy.

Why do people criticize Pokimane’s Myna Snacks?

Shortly after the release of Pokimane’s Myna Snacks Midnight Mini Cookies, allegations emerged suggesting that they were knockoffs of the Toatzy Midnight Mini Cookies, previously sold at Costco.

Critics pointed out that the two products not only shared similar names, but were also made by Creation Foods, a company known for its health-focused food products.

This connection has been cited as the reason for the striking resemblance and almost identical ingredients between Myna Snacks and Toatzy’s cookies. However, Myna Snacks Midnight Mini Cookies stood out by including additional vitamins and nutrients.

Conversely, many people, including other Twitch streamers, defended Myna Snacks’ price. They pointed out that the Mini Midnight Cookie packets contain four 400g packets, which justifies the cost.

Pokimane responded to the accusation

Both Myna Snacks and Pokimane released statements in response to the accusations. They highlighted that the Myna Snacks Midnight Mini Cookies recipe is special and exclusive to the brand.

Pokimane featured it on the X platform and wrote: “There has been some confusion about the product I launched, and I’m here to set the record straight.”

The streamer also responded to accusations that Myna Snacks is a white-label Toatzy. She said most food products sold in stores have white labels and refining ingredients is a common procedure in the food sector.

The main reason for the price difference was not due to Pokimane owning the company, but rather the quality of the ingredients used in Myna Snacks’ cookies.

At the end of his speech, Pokimane reaffirmed that Myna Snacks is not a money grab. She went on to say that if she was doing it for the money, she wouldn’t worry about sponsorships or cap her Twitch donations.
