Sharon’s birthday came just days after she admitted she believed her steamy 1992 film ‘Basic Instinct’ cost her custody of her son Roan, who is now 22. Stone adopted her eldest with journalist Phil Bronstein, 72 – who she was married to. from 1998 to 2004. “I lost custody of my child,” she told Bruce Bozzi on his “Table for Two” podcast, “when the judge asked my child — my tiny little boy: “Do you know your mother makes love movies?”

She said losing custody of her child when he was just eight years old was a “kind of abuse of the system”. “I was considered what kind of parent I was because I made this movie,” she said. “People are walking around with no clothes on at all on regular television now. You saw maybe a sixteenth of a second of my possible nudity and I lost custody of my child.” She also revealed how the trauma had impacted her physical and mental health. “I ended up at the Mayo Clinic with extra heartbeats in both the upper and lower chambers of my heart,” she revealed, according to Daily Mail. “It broke my heart. It literally broke my heart.”
