‘I clean them’: Patrick Mahomes opens up about the superstition of wearing the same pair of underwear every game
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Patrick Mahomes confirmed the red underwear rumors during his appearance on ESPN’s “ManningCast for Monday Night Football.”
The 28-year-old Kansas City Chiefs quarterback admitted to Peyton and Eli Manning that he wears the same pair of underwear every game, Sportskeeda reports.

“First of all, my wife Brittany bought them for me, so I’m not throwing you all out, but I have to wear them, you know,” Mahomes told the brothers of his former high school sweetheart, 28.
“At the same time, I launched them in that first season [and] we had a pretty good season that season,” he explained of how it all started in 2017.

“But I only wear them on game day,” he continued during his commentary on the Denver Broncos-Buffalo Bills game, adding that “they’re not too worn out” or “nasty.”
“I clean them. I wash them. Every once in a while, at least,” Mahomes joked, adding “I mean, if we’re on a hot streak, I can’t wash them, you know? I just have to keep driving.”

“As long as I win football matches, I will maintain the superstition,” the athlete added.
