This is not the first case of sexual abuse…
This is not the first time sexual abuse allegations have been made against Hayim. According to KHOU, in 2019 he was charged with indecency with a child after a foreign student, who was staying with the family, informed his school principal that Hayim was abusing him. The Spanish student, who was 16 at the time, said Hayim started petting him in his bedroom after the other boys had fallen asleep. Sherry Scott, the victim’s attorney, said at the time: “The driving is heartbreaking. It’s worse than we imagined, there are so many feelings and emotions it’s difficult. The student said he did it because he felt like if he didn’t he wouldn’t finish the year and he would lose a year of school if he was expelled.” However, Hayim was released on $75,000 bail and the case is still ongoing.
Speaking about the current case, Harris County District Attorney Janna Oswald said the boys were locked in a room for most of the day. He let them out around 4:00 p.m. and forced them to perform sexual acts. If they refused, Hayim sprayed them with pepper spray.
“He loves his children”
Speaking of the adopted sons, Hayim’s mother, Corina Lujan, 71, said: “I asked him why he wanted to adopt so many children, and he said to me, mum, I want to help children that nobody wanted to.” She said she spoke to him several times in prison. She said, “I’m hard of hearing and he can’t speak too loudly due to his medical issues.” “He’s not in very good health. Hayim said to me, ‘Don’t worry. Everything will be fine. I haven’t done anything.’ She added: “My son is innocent of the charges against him. He loves his children. He would never hurt them. They were mostly one big happy family who got along well. It’s all just a big bad dream, I’m still in shock from it all.”
