” Fear ! » Alec Baldwin makes a surprise appearance on ‘SNL,’ but the Internet is less than impressed
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Alec Baldwin, known for his regular impersonations of former President Donald Trump on “Saturday Night Live,” made an unexpected return to the show in his first appearance since the tragic 2021 shooting incident on the filming of his film “Rust”.
His appearance during the recent episode of the long-running sketch comedy series sparked a whole series of reactions on the Internet.

Baldwin, who has hosted ‘SNL’ 17 times, hadn’t been on stage in more than three years. His brief, somewhat under-the-radar appearance came at the end of a sleep story sketch for the Calm app, where he exclaimed, “Alright everyone, let’s calm down!”
This impromptu moment was followed by Baldwin joining the evening’s host, Timothee Chalamet, and musical guest Boygenius for the traditional end-of-show farewell.

Baldwin’s return to “Saturday Night Live” comes after the tragic incident that occurred in October 2021 on the set of his western “Rust.” During a rehearsal, a gun held by Baldwin fired live ammunition, resulting in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injury to director Joel Souza. Baldwin has always denied pulling the trigger on his gun in previous interviews, and earlier this year the manslaughter charges against him were dropped.
Despite the charges being dropped, last month New Mexico special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis announced plans to convene a grand jury to determine whether Baldwin should again face criminal charges in connection with the incident.

The film’s gunsmith, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, faces manslaughter charges and has pleaded not guilty. Additionally, the film’s assistant director, David Halls, who was responsible for handing the gun to Baldwin on the day of the incident, signed a plea deal earlier this year for “negligent use of a weapon fatal.”

Netizens were left in disbelief when Baldwin made an unexpected appearance on SNL. One user tweeted: “Alec Baldwin appearing at 12:58 on SNL was the biggest Jumpscare I’ve experienced in a long time… Like, why??? #SNL.” Another added: “Remember this guy was worried about making Trump seem human…” A third claimed: “They’re not the ones bringing back Alec Baldwin #SNL.”
